Forty-four Gifford staff members, including physicians, nurses, and administrators, participated in a 17-week PSG course and coaching. Their goal: learn new, cost-effective problem-solving methods that would ensure timely, defect-free care, improve patient satisfaction and safety, and eliminate wasted time and resources throughout the facility.
Together the Gifford team members identified more than 40 opportunities for improvement. Even before completion of the project, they implemented several solutions that brought rapid gains in productivity, quality of care, reduction of waste, and patient satisfaction.
