History

With an 11-year track record of helping Vermont manufacturers improve profitability and reduce waste though application of the Toyota Production System’s Lean manufacturing practices, the Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center launched the not-for-profit Process Strategies Group business unit in January, 2006.

PSG helps Vermont organizations develop and implement process improvement strategies and methods that achieve and sustain greater efficiency, continued high quality, improved client satisfaction, and lower costs.

In launching PSG, VMEC built on a strong history of accomplishment. Since 1996, VMEC has provided professional advice and assistance to more than 780 Vermont manufacturers.

In the past three years, the average reported Return on Investment (ROI) to companies as a direct result of VMEC services has been $114 for every one dollar invested.

Now PSG extends the proven benefits of Lean to government agencies, educational institutions, service organizations, and healthcare facilities throughout the state.
